Is the DB weight you’re using too easy, but you aren’t ready (yet) for the next 5lb increment? Have no fear!

Try adding 2-3 more reps to each set.

Once you comfortably hit those 2-3 additional reps, drop back down to the prescribed rep range and try for that 5lb heavier DB!
