But seriously — all workout videos are not that bad. Many are good…. and some are the worst workouts I’ve ever seen 🥹.
I digress — learning HOW to use social media, the information you get, the tools it gives you and more appropriately will change everything for you.⁣⁣
This is why you will often find me telling you to stay skeptical, don’t take everything at face value, and educate around many of the things that prey on people in this space.⁣⁣
So if you love workout videos, you aren’t bad for it. And some workout videos can be very helpful! So how do we use them rather than having them spin our wheels even more?⁣⁣
🌟DO use them as inspiration, finding a new exercise, a new way to adjust your set up, target a muscle/movement slightly different, or a new exercise in the next month to see how you like it.⁣⁣
🌟When you DO try it, don’t do exactly what a random fitspo/fitsbro did for their 4×12 for every set and rep and exercise. Fit it into your plan like you would anything else. Want to try B-stance RDL’s? Swap out your other posterior targeted exercise reps and sets for it for a few weeks.⁣⁣
🌟What you shouldn’t be doing is ANYONE exact workout, reps, sets and all randomly one week, get super sore, never do it ever again, and try something else again the next week, then complain you never get results and aren’t sure what to do in the gym. Especially the ones that are 8 exercises for 4×12 sets each for the same muscle group🙃. ⁣⁣
🌟And please, don’t assume what ANYONE does fits into your training needs and goals or that you will look exactly like them if you do what they do (including me). You are you! You may need more volume or less, or have the world’s most lagging biceps (okay maybe that’s just me). ⁣⁣
